4 Months!

So just where did the time go? Where is my tiny little baby?

Weight: 14 lbs 4 oz

Length: 25 inches

Milestones: Rolls over from back to tummy, tries to sit up from a laying down position (looks like he is doing some crunches), can sit with support, giggles, "talks", "watches" people, pulls hair, puts everything in his mouth, holds on to toys (finally! I was starting to get worried), plays with his feet. Oh yeah, and drools. A lot. Good grief thats a lot of things he has started this past month!

Firsts: First 4th of July, first time swimming, first taste of dr pepper (mother of the year right here, I dipped his paci in my drink. He had no reaction. No old enough yet to appreciate a good thing yet I suppose). I also let him lick french fry.

Mommy's favorite moments: I love changing his diaper! He plays with me while I work. He just smiles so big at me and then kicks the changing pad real hard,.Then he gets real still and quiet and he watches my face for a reacton. When I smile at him and laugh, he laughs right back, and then he kicks again. It's definatetly a game to him.

I imagine he will have a similar reaction when we hand him the keys to his car

Watching his hands and feet
Hey whats this down here?
I think I'll put it in my mouth...
num num num

like a faucet
hey dad, what are doing up there?
Looking like Dwight Howard, my dad, not the NBA player
So excited! Over what, Im not sure.

What we've been up to!

Here is a little of what we've been up to!

So we got to go to Dylan's party! She turned 19! When asked who all she wanted to invite to her birthday party she said "baby Bryce"!

She wasn't excited at all to hold him! She even "gouchy gouchy gooed" him! It was so cute.

The other person on her invite list? Sonic the Hedgehog! He came all the way from China to visit her!

Bryce didnt really know what to think of Sonic

We also took Bryce to the nursing home to finally meet his Great Grandpa. Grandpa had seen him at Easter for like 3 mins, but he didn't get to hold him. His face lit up when he saw Bryce and was eager to hold him. Grandma wouldnt stop kissing him!

Grandpa held him and started singing to him just like I remember him singing to Cody when he was a baby. It has no tune or no words, kinda sounds like an Indain chant.

Grandpa didn't even know who we were, but he really did enjoy holding Bryce and talking to him.

Then Grandma stole him

I love this one. They were talking to each other.

So Bryce has a major crush on his glow worm! He stares into those deep blue eyes and hold her close.

Cuddling! If he is having a melt down, we just turn the glow worm on and he is in a trance. As soon as the music stops and her face turns off, the screaming starts again.

Skinny baby! I bought those shorts at Old Navy. They are sized 3-6 months. When I stood him up, they slid right down his legs!  He has no belly or thunder thighs to hold them up!

Ups and downs

This past week had a lot of ups and downs.

Some of the ups: Bryce discovered his feet!
He loves to just lay on the floor and reach for them and try to get them in his mouth. Hours of entertainment
He also learned how to roll over from back to tummy! He has only done it twice, and I've only seen it once. I put him on his back and walked into the kitchen and came back and he was on his tummy watching TV! Then he did it again a minute later. He tried so hard to show daddy when he got home, but he hasn't done it since.

Some of the downs:
Bryce has been extra fussy this week. He doesn't sleep much at school and when he gets home he has these horrible melt downs that last anywhere from 30 min's to 2 hours. I know most of the problem is he is sleepy but I'm starting to wonder if he isn't getting enough milk. I'm really wanting to breast feed until he is 6 months old but I just don't think my supply can keep up with him.

Also, one of my dearest friends, Natalie, had her baby last Monday night. Little baby Ethan showed up 4 weeks early which surprised us all! If my boss is reading this, I was not on my phone on Tuesday morning when I got word that Ethan had been airlifted in the middle of the night to Children's Hospital and was going to have surgery. It was also evident that Ethan had Downs Syndrome. All of sudden, all of my problems and stresses seemed so insignificant. I was a crying mess at work, I was having a hard time holding it together just to make it through circle time. All the emotions of having Bryce are so fresh on my heart, that I couldn't even fathom what Natalie was going through. She was in a hospital 30 miles away, unable to hold her baby. My heart was literally aching. At lunch, I went into the baby room and picked up Bryce. I just held him and thanked God for all the infinite blessings I have and apologized for taking them all for granted. While I know Natalie and Ryan are heartbroken that Ethan can't come home yet, it has been such a blessing to see all the love and support little Ethan already has in his life. He is one loved little boy! Natalie and Ryan have had such an incredible faith that Ethan will recover and come home and live life to its fullest that I am proud to be their friends!

Crazy Saturday

So life is just flying by! Bryce is growing and getting stronger and smarter everyday!

Scott has been back from Houston and we have really enjoyed being a family again! Yesterday was one HOT Saturday filled with lots of errands.

We woke up at 730 and made a "family sandwhich", as Scott calls it, in the bed untill 8. Then we got up and headed to Sherwood where we helped my dear friend Melissa move into her first house! We couldn't stay long because Scott had to be at work by 11:00. So we went back home and I did a few chores while Scott got ready for work. I dropped him off at Chick Fil A and me and Bryce headed to Target to pick up a few things. Of course I had to check out the baby clothes while I was there and I found an OshKosh outfit for $9! It will be perfect for fall/winter. Scott called while I was in Target saying they were over-staffed and he could come home. So then we went home so Scott could change clothes and we met my parents at Buffalo Grill for lunch. My mom was disapointed that Bryce was asleep, so she offered to take him home while me and Scott ran our errands. So Scott and I headed to Old Navy to get some $1 flip flops. I got the last pair of 9s in the store! We also scored some shorts for Bryce. Then off to Kroger to buy the weekly groceries. Then we ran home with the groceries and carried them upstairs and put them away. Then it was off to Sonic to buy drinks at Happy Hour. Dad called saying Bryce was awake and starving to death. We rush back to my parents so I could nurse Bryce. Then we headed back home so I could get ready for a trip out with the girls. I was so excited to see Natalie, Lauren, and Callie. We ate at Cheeburger, which I normal enjoy a lot. Then I had some crazy allergic reaction to something I ate. My stomach cramped up really bad, I broke out in sweat, my tounge started itching, hives broke out all over, and my chest got tight. Lauren rode home with me so I could take some benadryl. I was really nervous becuase I've never had a reaction that quick and severe before. It only happens when I eat hamburger meat, so it has to be some preservative or dye they put in some meat beacuase it doens't happen all the time. Luckily, after about an hour, my hives stopped itching and my chest felt less tight, so I didn't have to go to the ER. Note to self: get a prescription for an Epi Pen.
So I know the 3 month pic is a little more zoomed in so to point out how much bigger he is, you see that Chicco logo on the left? Its behind his head on the right. Crazy! Oh and he is wearing the same onesie!
